My goal is to fill in Rate Your Music's gaps on musical theatre. I don't want to just rate theatre recordings but to provide contextual information about the art form so people may better understand why some shows are historically important or why they may or may not resonate with audiences. If there isn't some sort of established critical framework of why this work is created, it will continue to be seen as a frivolous distraction.
