Listen to "Radio Me" (beta)

Album ratings:

★★★★★ = All-time fave / landmark album
★★★★✫ = Nearly flawless / very good throughout
★★★★ = Really good / very enjoyable, might still have some weaker tracks
★★★✫ = Solid
★★★ = Listenable / has its merits (e.g. standout tracks) but probably nothing I'll return to often
★★✫ = Meh / OK but not my taste
★★ = Don't really like
<★★ I don't generally bother with

My most-played albums usually are in the 4.0 to 4.5 vicinity. BTW, I'm generally an album listener.

Track ratings:

★★★★★ = Total stunner
★★★★✫ = Obsessive playing on repeat
★★★★ = Great track
★★★✫ = Enjoyable track
★★★ = Wouldn't turn off the radio if I heard this

I care about individuals more than I care about genres.

I like music that is both interesting and appealing to some degree. Plain pop is fine as long as it's good, but it better have some soul or I'll wear out on it in the long run. Danceability has proven a bonus lately.

I can stand some noise but nothing that gets all too grating on the ears in the long run. Dynamics rule.

Headphone guy and moderate/budget audiophile with a technical background. Old bookworm. Introvert. Big child.

So much good music, so little time...

Thanks fo the rec. I've already heard The Bear's Revenge some times ago, and still have Preternatural on my never-ending 2016 backlog, so I'll try to add this one to the mix, once I'll get over my Taeko Onuki phase :)

Constellations is awesome from start to finish! I especially love the second half, The Observatory might be my favourite, that's an incredible song! Most of the other tracks need some time to grow on you but all of them are great imo.

Recommendations are welcome of course! :)

Nice review for Love Trip. Your description "on the 80s jazz muzak side" does sound kinda accurate lol.

Thanks for mentioning the Moulettes; I'd quite enjoyed their new album without realizing that there was some bassoon playing nestled among the electronic tones and celestial harmonies. Job done!
