I live in South-America, in Chile, a long and slim country that used to have a high cultural level, we had 2 Nobel Literature Prizes: Gabriela Mistral and Pablo Neruda. We used to, until a military dictatorial government destroy all that was valuable in that field, transforming our country in a gigantic mall, and culture is the only stuff that is not sold in a such premises.
I have been fond of rock music, from the very moment I recognize it as an appealing kind of music, with the plus of be an universal way to expression, respected and loved. I prefer complex music creation over that one that only earn money, money is an effective vehicle to push creation, but always ends prostituting who choose it as their only target.
I play guitar in a decent way, but requires to persevere, I've tried drums, keyboards and some bass. Finally I've decided that to be a listener is my business ;)
I own some musical material, I've paid for it, but I know that mostly of my money have gone to the pockets of the owners of the recoding companies, instead of the artist themselves. Due to that I download lots of material, trying to share as wide as possible what I found is valuable and worthing, either reviewing or giving details.
I feel love and respect for all related with music, no matter how humble it is, so you wont see me destroying the music I don't like, especially that one I don't understand: maybe somebody else will enjoy it and be happy with it, that is his human right.
Concerning music creation I have a very humble position: I am not an expert and I don't come here to make others to believe that I am such silly thing.
I do have a strong respect for the music I buy or download, cataloguing it and carefully completing its basic information in order to not share with others wrong or misleading details. In this aspect this site, Rate your Music, is for me an extremely important tool and source, for that, I'll do my best to help to keep it in the best form and in a constant grow as it has been until now.
I appreciate very much all the efforts of the people who maintain this site as it is. I wouldn't be able to manage my music without it.
