Together arrived and I got so excited I reviewed it straight off, as you may have discovered. But including youtube I listened five times before reviewing, plus five of the tracks were familiar to me from my youth through the Hearing Earring compilation. Together is an excellent album, I may possibly bump it up to 4.5 at some point.

I am a slow collector (by rym standards) and also with very diverse tastes.. My homepage archives Vol 1 list tells the story of how Purple was one of my four foundational bands, but after being raised on In Rock, Black Night, Fireball and Machine Head I discovered so many other bands and di move on. So I've always held Purple in the highest regard, but haven't listened to their swansong yet. BUT, you may be interested to hear I'm listening, for the first time ever, to a certain two albums entitled "Burn" and "Stormbringer".

Thanks for your words ! Yeah, it's a nice little record, that Lemon Pipers album. Man, I feel truly sorry for all you American guys who didn't vote for him and have to suffer the consequences of his election on a daily basis. Hopefully he will make a big mistake and will be destituted sooner or later - that's what all the specialists here in Europe seem to say. So, there is hope, I think.. He is too stupid not to compromise himself, it's just a question of time.

Hi Rod.. Regarding Il Baletto di Bronzo - maybe you should try their first album "Sirio 2222" instead. It is totally different in style, more in a slightly Hendrixy, psychedelic hard-rock vein with strong vocals.. I'm sure it'd be more to your taste. The CD reissue is veru cheap and easy to get too.
