Thanks. I really like your succinct review of Mekanïk Destruktïw Kommandöh. No doubt when I get around to it my review will be long-winded and nowhere near as good as yours.
Yes I would too. It's no surprise that my output dropped suddenly when I started working full time. To alter Oscar Wilde's famous quote "work is the curse of the music loving classes".
you might dig The Fall, man. They came out of the post-punk scene but they were much better than their contemporaries imo. Very Beefheart and kraut-influenced mixed with Stooges-y garage rock (I wouldn't even call them punk after their debut). 'Grotesque' is a good one to start with and then go from there.
Thanks mate. I'll be sure to check them out. I don't have many punk albums (just the obligatory Clash and Ramones albums as the moment) and punk/post-punk is not an area I know a lot about.
you ever heard Enslaved's later stuff? They're kind of like the Opeth of the black metal scene, if you will. 'Axioma Ethica Odini' is a good one to start with. Their earlier stuff is great viking black metal too but they start to get proggy on their 2000 album though they didn't really hit their stride with it until their 2003 album. They're a bit hit or miss but good stuff.
Not yet, but Enslaved are on my wishlist. Unfortunately, not that easy a band to find here in Australia. There's a good chance I'll like most of their catalogue as I'm into black metal and viking metal as well. Thanks for the recommendations anyway.
