***RATING SYSTEM***
5.0 Godsent: An album that really hits home for me and is likely in my CD collection, or already in my wish list. I only use this rating to ensure that it meets up with or exceeds my expectations. Lifelong favorites go here.
4.5 A Legendary Masterpiece: This album will be a favorite for me at one point or another! Some albums may even qualify for a perfect 5 star rating, but may contain a few flaws.
4.0 An important contribution to music: Albums here are well- made. The artist has created something beautiful has a multitude of meanings for me. Production is excellent, the lyrics make me think about the meaning of what I'm listening to.
3.5 Amazing, Nice, and also Cool: Albums from this rating and above are catchy and will be recommended to friends. It isn't perfect, but it definitely has a sense of character. I feel that the album inspires me if I rate it at this level or higher.
3.0 Adequate or average: This rating is used for albums that are average and meet standard expectations. Nothing bad, but maybe nothing unique either.
2.5 Not quite hitting the spot: Albums that are poor, or have lost their shine to me. Maybe I used to like an album and listened to it again only to find that it is not passing the three star mark and could've been better.
2.0 Poor: Ratings from here to below are bad contributions to music. It does nothing for me and makes me sad.
1.5 Uh, uh no: I will question why the artist even released this.
1.0 Why even bother: Don't let your children listen to stuff that meets the 1.0 rating.
0.5 A disgrace to humanity: I hope to never use this, but if I do, it'll be fun to write a review about how horrible this is.

1. I've always loved really long albums, as long as they keep the immersion factor throughout and Shaking the Habitual feels like its own world entriely. Like how there's art pop, drone, techno, world music, etc. and it all retains the Knife's unique feel and style.
2. Olof brought his production game to another level entirely, and layered nearly every song (particularly Full of Fire, A Tooth for an Eye, Networking and Without You My Life Would Be Boring) with so much complexity it enhanced that grandiosity I mentioned above. It gave me that cliche feeling of having "something new on each listen" lol
3. KAREN. Karen's vocal style has always been in that art pop group alongside Bjork and Kate Bush etc. but she's always been the most passionate performer in the bunch. And STH, being such a politically charged album, only brought her most emotional and passionate performances in the Knife's career as a band. So many chills..
Also, i enjoyed the experimental pieces (Old Dreams, Fracking, A Cherry on Top) a lot too, but they did hold the album back from gettin that 10/10 (at least, Old Dreams and Fracking did). If Old Dreams was 10 or 15 mins long and if Fracking was omitted, it'd be better than Silent Shout imo. What did you think of STH? :))
