Bridge building

Genre
Bridge building games are a style of physics puzzles that rely on physics sandbox mechanics, where the player builds bridges or other similar structures. These structures are then used to transport people, vehicles, or cargo, relying on the quality of its construction to carry them to the end of the bridge. Each level usually has a set budget goal to aim for, with many games having different resources or types of supports that cost different amounts. These games tend to focus on basic bridges, but they can also include slopes, draw bridges, and in the case of When Ski Lifts Go Wrong (2019), ski-lifts. The Bridge Constructor and Poly Bridge franchises have been very successful in the genre, with the former even collaborating with the hugely popular Portal franchise in Bridge Constructor Portal (2017).
