First Time WoW Player Experience
Seeing the Classic hardcore meta on twitch made me want to give it a go and WoW, what a timesink!! Thank god I didn't start on hardcore because one wrong click and you're dead. I would be devastated to lose hours, days of my life to a murloc. Leveling is slow so it really gives you a sense of progression.

I'm playing a human mage and the gameplay loop so far is talk to the townsfolk, kill those beasts over there, steal their shit, turn in those items, level up, Hearthstone to Stormwind, run to Mage Quarters to upgrade magic spells, repeat. I've seen debates on freely playing vs minmaxing, but personally I would find no joy having a guide tell me everything (although Questie is essential).
