A worthy update of sorts to Road to World Cup 98, World Cup 98 is perhaps a shade better, having had a subtle polish. Though still not quite as precise and responsive as ISS 64, it feels great to play, and the way in which players react to the ball has a weightiness to it, more realistic than ever. Animation, sound and commentary are again top notch, and there are a wealth of team management options available, though the game is a little light on content with just World Cup and Historic Scenario modes forming the meat of it.
