Voice of Cards: The Isle Dragon Roars

This feels so half-assed

Don't be fooled, the card-game angle is just a superficial aesthetic. Gameplay is totally archaic 90s JRPG. No deck-building or strategy, just spamming the same three attacks in dreadfully slow turn-based combat. Beautiful design, but the gameplay is for babies or vegetables.

Not to mention the terrible, incredibly simplistic story. I was not at all surprised when I found out this was originally supposed to be a mobile game

Tbh I'd take traditional jrpg combat over deckbuilding any day

it's aight, best played as a side-dish or dessert, i think. the kind of game you get a little taste of between your last big game commitment and your next one. easy to pick up and put down and doesn't require a whole lot of investment to play or complete.

for anyone addicted to yoko taro's little side stories of sad weirdos with tragic backstories (me)
