this game has this authentic feel to it and the art style is so cool

The game's aesthetic and themes fit very well with the art. It is ridiculously fun to learn and play and it also has a small modding scene with some people creating their own stages, which is nice.

This is super promising considering it's a demo and it already feels as good and fun to play as it does. The presentation of this already feels on point in a lot of ways, with the aesthetic being incredibly fun and stylish and bringing things to life effortlessly, immediately radiating a certain cool energy that gives me some Scott Pilgrim vibes if it were put through a fuzzy, VHS filter. The gameplay itself also adds to it, feeling decently responsive and having a snappiness about it that works well with the artstyle, and while in essence, the gameplay itself is basically just a slightly different Muse Dash, that's honestly completely fine given how different the two games are in terms of so many aspects beyond that core gameplay loop. The song selection was pretty great for the most part, even if it had the inevitable couple of far, far weaker tracks that's kinda to be expected with any game like this, with a good mix of fast paced adrenaline rushes and slightly slower but often more rhythmically complex tracks to provide a variety of challenges to the player.

I do have a couple of issues with this as well however that I definitely could see as being a problem if these trends continued as the game progressed. My biggest gripe is that with the camera switching mechanic, it sometimes felt as if what you had to do after the switch was too fast to reliably react to it if you hadn't memorised everything already, leading to a few situations where it almost felt as if the game just decided that I wasn't allowed to maintain a combo any longer. The other one is that I felt that some of the charting was a bit wonky and just a tiny bit off from what it was supposed to be, especially on any difficulty lower than hard, which left some parts feeling much less fun and satisfying than they should have by all rights. Overall though, this is a great little demo that gives me some seriously high hopes for the full game's release down the road.
