The Incredible Adventure of Van Helsing is a solid action rpg, in the same vein as diablo and torchlight.
This game is great for the first 10 hours or so, but after that it starts to get way too repetitive and dull. The loot is incredible, i like the gothic/cyberpunk setting and the comedic tone is spot on. Nice design on the whole as well.
The game feels a bit janky when it comes to animations and walking, but nothing too serious. What kills it though is that its an absolute clickfest. Maybe im too blame since i build a melee character that rellies on lifesteal. My gameplay was simply clicking until the enemies were dead, maybe sip a potion or healing spell if i was taking too much dmg. The enemies dont really encourage you to take any other tactic than this one, particular in the later levels where the crowds of enemies they throw at you become absolutly ridiculous and you simply cant understand whats going on. You are also given a campanion and their AI is braindead, which you would be a bigger problem hadnt the game been so passive (at least on the normal difficulty). The levels are also a pain to get through towards the end due to how many enemies they packed on the map. More often than not different groups of enemies would join the fight since their placement was so close. And towards the end it simply started lacking interesting side quests and easter eggs.
I still had a whole lot of fun with it, but i cant quite recommend it.
