Just like Super Star Soldier is essentially just a vertical Gradius, this is obviously just a vertical Parodius. But it's a good one, so that's fine. Even if it wasn't, that soundtrack would justify its existence single-handedly. Plus, considering how Konami owns Hudson now, when taken alongside Parodius, Kid Dracula and Wai Wai World, this marks the fourth distinct IP Konami owns specifically dedicated to parodying another of their IPs.
