  the endless tweaking made skate 2 feel a little weird and skate 3 had a much smaller emphasis on smaller gaps and cleaner tricks

One of the most well rounded skateboarding games there is. Great visuals (that imo still holds up in 2021), great soundtrack, fun. In every aspect you can tell this game was designed by skaters for skaters.

Absolutely love the vibe of this game. Feels like the end of an era and the beginning of a new one all at once. Skate 3 is the best in the series but this one nailed its aesthstic perfectly.

this is easily the best in the series in terms of nailing the difficulty x satisfaction of pulling off tricks (especially grinds wow). i think the world design, customisation and variety of missions was improved upon in every subsequent game, but i could see an argument for this being the best in the series given how immense and grounded it feels to play
