I am done attempting to conjure the drive to finish this game after more than a decade. This thing is the absolute worst of the classic RE games, and whatever magical experience that players found while playing with each other online is totally absent when going at it solo. The concept is really exciting, and the art might rival and exceed RE3's depiction of Raccoon City's Y'arnham-like intricacy and sprawl, but the game just sucks to play and is not worth putting up with.

Outbreak is one of those Resident Evil games everyone likes to say is underrated and call it a hidden gem. I remember getting it on PS2 when a friend told me about it and said its a fun multiplayer game where you can survive zombies and get through different maps. I'll admit, the idea is cool but its executed a little odd. The game sort of just ran through the motions, you revisited some of the same areas and basically just progressed killing zombies and creatures. Nothing really stands out about Outbreak, its a competent zombie shooter and mildly fun with friends but that's it, it isn't anything revolutionary or great. And its a bit forgettable to be honest.

So far it's pretty fun, some of the stages are a tad confusing so you end up roaming room after room looking for something you might have missed (which is kind of easy in this game) but that's nothing too bad. Don't get the hate.
Has generally solid level design (Hospital and College are great) and a formless episodic-like experience. Obviously today you'd have to experience it as a single-player game but it still is viable as such. Would make gangbusters today.
Never played this one too much, as it confused the shit out of me as a kid. I feel like I somehow went from the bar to the sewer in a way that didn't feel like it flowed well, unless I'm just severely misremembering. I was also too dumb to conserve ammo, as I'd only played 4 at the time lol
"My life is shit!"
"Help me, please!"
"Kiss my ass, bitch!"
"No shit!"
"I just had a thought..."
