People shit on Resident Evil 5[バイオハザード5] for being too action-heavy, but I think it does a decent job at building on the series based on the trajectory it was taking earlier. This, however, is straight Call of Duty garbage. This DLC mission is purely action, with waves of enemies impeding Jill and Josh's progress as they try to escape the Tricell facility and get to the volcano in time to drop the series trademark rocket launcher for the final boss of the main game. While I do enjoy the gunplay in the main game, it felt tedious here. Weapon pickups seem to be randomized, so I never saw a rifle my entire first run. I gave Josh the shotgun so he'd have something to defend himself with, but this stuck me with the SMG, of which I'm not a huge fan. I've never had issues with AI in the main game, but I had to save Josh's ass every minute or so. The "climax" of the mission eschews a proper boss fight in favor of sending a Gatling Majini, Chainsaw Majini, super Chainsaw Majini, and super Gatling Majini, in that order. No crazier BOWs, though some basic enemies have the chance to transform into the giant clam things. I don't think I ever saw a Cephalo or the flying guys. No Reapers either, which is probably a good thing, since I simply did not have the firepower to face them. I wouldn't want to replay this mission too often, in hopes of better RNG with weapon pickups, as I find it more fun to do one of the Licker missions in the main game if I feel like some hectic shooting action.
As with the other DLC, this is worthless for more lore. It shows you how Doug dies, but he's far from being one of the "important" BSAA operatives.
