NBA Live 99

Enough to give Kobe's Courtside a bit of competition. Live 99 is comprehensive, with both sim modes and a wild arcade mode, and plenty of options. The control scheme is solid--easy to learn but deep enough to reward those who want to get more out of the game. I particularly like the 'direct pass' option, which allows you to pass to a specific player on screen. Good music, sound and commentary round out a fun package, but the graphics are where the game hurts. It looks great in places, especially the player models, but the animation is disappointing, players often get stuck on each other and enter a confused slo-mo version of whatever animation they were in, and the framerate is disappointingly low.
