Title
Often compared to Pokemon, Monster Rancher was closer in reality to virtual pet life-sim games (Digimon, Tamagotchi, etc.) with a larger roster and real-time battling, its one notable feature being a monster summoning system achieved through inserting different discs into the console. Gimmick intrigue aside, the routine gets horribly tedious quickly.

    Not as bad as I initially remembered. In fact it's way easier in a lot of ways than 2, it's a cheap way to get a more uncommon monster and transfer it over like main breed Tigers, Golems, Worms, Galis, etc., then just hunting for them in the Shrine in 2 lol
