Mixed-Up Mother Goose

This game really brought back memories. It's very short and obviously targeted at children, but for what it is, it's really fun.

The graphics are simple but nice. There's something about many of these old games that really draws you in. It feels like they really put effort into it. There are a lot of nice little details. The animations are often funny, like when Jill comes tumbling down the hill, or a cow jumps over the moon, or a lamb is brought to school. And once you revisit an area, the animation has shifted to show how things end up later on.

The gameplay is extremely simple - walk around and reconnect various objects with the people they belong to. But it's nice to just explore and appreciate the art as well. And it's mildly challenging to mentally keep track of where everything is. The movement is a bit clunky at times - you can get stuck behind walls or just have difficulty moving at times which is frustrating.

It's nice seeing the characters sing once you find their object. It's pretty funny realising how absurd a lot of nursery rhymes once you see them acted out. They really are random and meaningless. With Humpty, it basically feels like assisted suicide. I really didn't wanna give him the ladder! And yet, somehow, they DID put him back together again later.

Anyway, this was enjoyable way to spend about half an hour. Easy, mild entertainment. Great for kids.
