I think nostalgia is blinding us with this rating. Just started replaying and there are some frustrating shortcomings. For one, linebackers are able to swat down or jump and deflect most bullet throws, the career mode is comedically shallow, CPU trade logic doesn't make much sense, easy exploitable glitches in draft day trades, and you literally can't trade for punters and kickers. Like most madden games since 2008, there's a great game here but it's buried beneath a mountain of shit
