SA1 patch makes the Super NES version so good. The original Arcade version is way too unforgiving.

The arcade original is really cool, but just too fucking punishing. The SNES port might be one of the best shooters ever made though.

Had to use save states to beat it. It was just too frustrating to start again from the beginning, especially since you lose all of your powerups when you die so it's kind of impossible to survive.
