Perfectly serviceable as a Goemon game in the style of the two NES entries, but it carries through one of those games' worst mechanics, namely that you have to jump literally everywhere you go or risk missing all the secret staircases and occasionally important items. The entire late-game pearl-hunting quest and all the hidden jewels required for the good ending rely on you hunting down completely untelegraphed invisible jump points. At least the ending is optional I guess, but that pearl quest is nightmarish.
