Dream Pinball consists of 6 tables of generic themes; Knight Tournament, Monsters, Dino Wars, Aquatic, Spinning Rotors, and Amber Moon The graphics are quite poor with jagged aliased lines and a dark and dull colour pallet.
The main ball is quite floaty and quite often finds its way down the gutter, although it is fairly easy to tilt the ball back up through the flippers by shunting your remote forward. As you play, the ball changes to a different material which tends to have more weight and have a much better feel compared to the standard ball.
The table designs are decent enough and there are a several 'difficulty' modes (more balls, ball-save time length etc.). The score racks up very quick, but in pinball, scoring is relative to previous plays so it doesn't matter too much. Usually, you have to complete the table's modes to rack up a large score but in this game you can amass a huge amount of points firing combos on the ramps.
On the Spinning Rotors table, I struggled to get over 30 million playing properly, then when I fired it around the ramps at the sides multiple times in quick succession; I amassed 60 million! When you lose a ball, a dialog pops up telling you it is calculating your score which surprisingly takes several seconds and makes you wonder how hard it is to add the ball-out bonus to your total score.
Despite such flaws, Dream Pinball is simply okay. If you like Pinball, it is worth checking out but it's not revolutionary and is not going to convert non pinball fans to the genre.
