In a Siberian gulag in 1952, NKVD Colonel Churkin interrogates his former subordinate officer, Lieutenant Lev Abramovich Isakovich, about his journal detailing his experiences during the Great Patriotic War.
Played the first one, and this one plays and looks exaclty like i recall the first one doing. Zero innovation as far as i can tell, and the russian campaign is a bit grim to go through, you have a hard time getting attached to these characters. But its still a very solid RTS i would say.
There is a bigger focus on micro management than base building. Because your soldiers gain experience and are upgradeable, you do grow attached to them, making it heartbreaking at times to see them massacred when an enemy tank rolls in. I do wish that the soldiers where a bit more automated, as in take cover 2m away from you before you start shooting. Its pacing is not as intense as Starcraft, but still a pretty intense experience at times.
Overal had a good time with it, though im far from a RTS expert.
