The PV-1000 was a video game home console released by
Casio in October 1983, and only available in Japan. The console architecture was considered outdated compared to other systems available at the time. While the PV-1000 joysticks function on the
Casio PV-2000, a computer released by Casio in the same year, their libraries of games are not compatible. The console failed to gain a significant share of the console market, most probably due to the competition with other, more popular systems available at the time, ultimately resulting in its short life span and subsequent rarity.
