The Adventure Company was first launched in January 2002 as a division and brand of Dreamcatcher Interactive -which in 2006 would become a wholly owned subsidiary of JoWooD Entertainment- to distribute their adventure games titles under.
In 2011 The Adventure Company was sold to THQ Nordic, following Dreamcatcher Interactive's parent (JoWooD Entertainment) assets being sold after entering administration.
