Psion
Game company
Psion began life in 1980 as a software developer, and their close relationship with Sinclair Research led to them developing a number of programs for the ZX81 and ZX Spectrum between 1981 and 1984. However, they are more widely known for their hardware; beginning with the Psion Organizer, released in 1984, the company produced a successful range of portable computers and PDAs. They also played an important role in the early development of smartphones, having been involved in the development of the Symbian operating system.
They were acquired by Motorola Solutions in October 2012 for $200 million, who gradually phased out the Psion business while retaining the brand name. Motorola Solutions were subsequently acquired in April 2014 by Zebra Technologies.
