Formed by the merger of The Collective and Shiny Entertainment following Shiny's acquisition by The Collective's parent company Foundation 9 Entertainment, Double Helix was later acquired by Amazon Game Studios and absorbed into their own internal development team based close to the existing Double Helix headquarters in Irvine, California, ceasing to exist as a company at this stage.
