Scrabble
Franchise
A classic word game board game brand originally invented by Alfred Mosher Butts in 1938. The brand ownership has been split between Mattel and Hasbro, the latter of which is exclusively licensed to sell in Canada and the United States. Hasbro notably purchased the rights to market Scrabble from Coleco after the company's bankruptcy in 1988. The game takes inspiration from crosswords, requiring players to make criss-crossing sequences of scored tiles to form words and earn points on 'bonus spaces'.
