Aside from having the common interest in heavy metal music,I share nothing similar in character with any other metalhead. I never headbang to my music, I'm not a person who is easily excited/pumped, and I'm soft-spoken.

Opinions on this site :

I don't normally use the social aspect of this site,but do feel free to recommend stuff. I use this site mainly to archive albums that I listen to (the yearly listening logs) as well as a reference to my favourite albums. I plan to set up a few more lists. The best part of this site is the ability to favourite and keep track of other people's lists, even if our tastes may not be so similar. I like to think there's good music in every genre,so I like to listen to them even if I end up not liking it,but more so than ever I'll probably like it anyway.


Music and Listening style :

My listening style is to listen to an album over the course of about three days (depending on how well i like the albums) Then I will revisit those albums in the near future and see how well it sank into me. Album art influences but does not directly affect what albums I want to listen to.

I don't have the time to listen to entire bands' discography,so if an album sounds vastly different from their previous albums, I wouldn't know. As such, I don't have favourite bands, and I prefer to have favourite albums for their value rather than bands. It's going to take a lot for me to call a band a favourite of mine.

I'm fairly open to all kinds of sub-genres of heavy metal. I always love that feeling when you discover a gem from some obscure band,but I also try to be open minded and listen to well known bands.. I'm currently using Elysium Libretto headphones (a gift) and loving it.

Dislikes :
-Most core music; vocals and breakdowns spoil things.
-Most ambient stuff i.e. tribal and dark ambient are perfect albums to decrease my average rating. Space Ambient is still okay.
-French avant-garde black metal stuff.
-Avoiding depressive black metal now. (probably not gonna happen,but i'll still revisit similar genres i.e funeral doom/depressive black/blackgaze/gothic/deathdoom now and then)

Albums that I have plans to buy (once I get positive cash flow into my bank) & collect.

95 - 100% - Almost perfect albums,with flaws that can easily be ignored. Can be enjoyed at any time/mood/season/location.whatever. Probably conceived by aliens as a gift to this planet.

85 - 94% - Incredible albums, with some noticeable flaws. Both albums in this range and one above gets the most listens while I am travelling outside.

75 - 84% - Great albums that I can enjoy, with many standout tracks or a few less enjoyable tracks. 75 - 79% are albums that usually can't make the mark for me to call it a favourite.

65 - 74% - Overall these are the range of well rounded albums, and they most certainly have the potential to improve further.

55 - 64% - Above average stuff that have some value in them so I will mostly keep them. If I had a shelf,they'll be stored on the less reachable places since I have no plans to revisit these albums often.

Albums below these ratings, are ones that I won't even consider buying.

50 - 54% - This range is for mediocre albums. They are forgettable, so much so that I forgot to get rid of them.

35 - 49% - Perhaps a few songs (depending on EP/LP length) that are decent enough not to inflict pain on me. Any albums here should just be melted down and be made into more useful stuff.

25 - 34% - Painful, awful or utterly boring, I'll rather be watching sexy things than to sit around and listen to these albums. These nasty albums should be wrapped and concealed to be given to people I hate.

15 - 24% - Almost worthless, with plenty of audio faeces that are being directed into my ears and annoy me. Albums here are recommended to be destroyed with a hydraulic press.

0 - 14% - Torturous & severely damaging to human psychology, these albums should be banished from this universe at once. Perhaps an accidental toss of the album into a black hole.
