I'm not sure what part of NY Kathleen lives in, I'd have to look at some old letters' addresses. We used to be pen-pals for a while. She and I have something in common (we're both sober now-I had 14 years yesterday). Her partner/mate is Adam Yauch from Beastie Boys. THey've been together for a while and he even dj'd at an SVS/Bikini Kill show on year's eve 1996/1997. It was weird seeing him walking around Olympia. I saw Vivian girls last May and they were awesome! It seems like they get a bad rap for not being a good live band, but I beg to differ. Seattle seems to love them and they gave the love back. They remind me The Wipers in way. I tell, and I hope I don't sound too much like an old timer, but this is the best time of your life and I really hope you're having a blast. It's that age were I pretty much got turned onto most of the music that I still like these days. Or music style? Something like that. (just please be careful when partying :)-hope that ain't too geezer-like.

I believe that you'll accomplish whatever you put your mind too. I regret not going to college, but at the time, there was no way. You're right about the Adams. I get 'em mixed up. I really should try and write her. It's been a while (she's sent me free records too, haha)

Wow. Do you play an instrument? If not, you should. Trust, if I can do it, ANYONE can. It's not hard at all. I believe that we all have the ability to make music inside of us and that it's our own, individually, but too many people subscribe to standard norms of what they think it's supposed to be. Have you heard Lundegaard? That kid truly makes his own music and it is definitely his own.

Wow, I just went and listened to it and that riff sounded so familiar... I must've heard it on college radio in the '90s but never knew who it was by. The bouncy groove reminds me a bit of Sebadoh's "Rebound" & Silkworm's "Quicksand"
