Miki's stopwatch: basically, for me, a "haha idk" answer. I heard that Miki uses his stopwatch to time a specific and important scene, so I went through the series and noted those lines/scenes, but I probably missed a few. I can't see any relation between them other than being an insight into the plot/characters. The most interesting parts are the surprisingly unique usages of the stopwatch, like when Nanami uses it (episode 17) and when it shows Miki refusing to use the stopwatch (panning from his limp hand holding the stopwatch to his face, episode 26). I think when he's using it with Tsuwabuki in the last episode it's supposed to symbolize both characters overcoming their opposing issues (Tsuwabuki wanting to grow up vs. Miki wanting to stay an innocent child).

I agree with what you think about Akio's theatrics. Just to showcase how glamorous the "adult world" with its cars and sex is to the younger characters. Yeah, all three anime have masterful directing, I agree ;) I would add Mononoke and Texhnolyze to that also; probably Anne and some Dezaki anime too.

THE CAT! Dang, Nanami... Yeah, I love her, I hate her, and I love to hate her. I didn't like her at first (who did?) but man did she turn out to be a well-developed character. Her interactions w/ Utena, Anthy, and Touga in her last episode are great. Nah Utena's cool though. Naive, idealistic, well-intentioned Utena. All of her development in the last episode is one of the high points in the entire series.

idk man, i liked 'I' though wasn't a fan of that song's chorus. it was really catchy though. as for this song, I'm not hearing anything wrong with the drums. It's not the most interesting beat for sure, but the aggression makes up for it. I can understand not digging the chorus. I don't mind Assassin's vocals though. Kendrick easily goes into character on this song as usual and his lyrics are amazing, especially the last verse (and those last couple lines - christ!!!). the outro is gorgeous too. i think i just don't get how someone who liked GKMC could so strongly dislike this, particularly the lyrics which are as intelligent and hard hitting as anything else he's done. I DO however think that his new album won't reach the heights of GKMC, based on I and this new track. So there's that

THAT'S fair enough. More importantly - Pastoral: To Die in the Country. What a fucking film. Instant fave. That ending was incredible. The visuals.....were incredible. Everything about it. yeah
