Yeah, it was really good. It was just the kind of jazz I've been in the mood for, so I wouldn't be surprised to see my rating grow in time. It looks like later albums tend towards jazz fusion tho, which is a bit disconcerting. ;/
Thanks for the recs. I'll check them out when I get some time. I'll see if I can find something to throw your way as well. ;)
Being honest, I don't like jazz fusion at all. It just dilutes all of the aspects of jazz I enjoy and replaces them with the aspects of rock I detest. It rarely ever works well imo.
sure! ~ hngggg Ive listened to insignificance at least a billion times and it still sounds just as fresh as first listen (plus added sentimental value hell yeaaa) just, a perfect album, every second. 2nd half brings on the tears, even with the caustic lyrics :s ahh!! japanese girl omg!!! rlly charming, u get sad longing feel and triumphant + fluttery feel out of it. soo good. I like all of akikos releases bc I'm very fond of her voice, and goofy synths/ tender piano additions are nice. they all pale in comparison to that one though. perfect capture of eastern style music and human spirit. oh dear, I've overhyped something ;-l (sacrifices lamb in name of japanes artpop)
