Who knew! I did not even know Lil' Wayne was still making music. Good for him, I say. I've never been a huge fan of him, but as Bob Dylan said "I always had respected [him], for doing what [he] did and getting free." I don't see the group CunninLynguists in your ratings. I suggest you check them out - they are my favorite hip hop group since the turn of the century. If you're looking for the super new stuff, their 2011 album Oneirology is dripping with heaven. But every album is pretty great.

Anyways, really awesome to hear that you are starting a PhD program on Musicology. What an interesting path! I think it would be so fun to teach music not through instruments but through listening exercises, books, and demos. One of the degrees I could see myself pursuing is Ethnomusicology. So cool to hear about your musical interests.

i'm sorry to hear that - i'm sure you'll either bounce back (a good thing) or just leave this hobby behind (also a good thing).

i'm also thinking of repurging my ratings and starting again. i'm really thinking about employing the oft-maligned positive rating system, where i just dump all the baddies at the 1-star level and use the rest as varying shades of good, though not as extensive (ie. these people would use their 1.5 star rating as their first "good" rating)

but like...there's no point in me distinguishing 2Pac's double album (i have it at 2 stars atm), Too Short's disgusting sex triumphs (i have it at 1.5 stars atm) and Death Grips (i have it at 1 star atm) when i never want to hear any of them ever again.
