Explanation of my rating systems:

For albums:
5 something special
4.5 better than the sum of its parts
4 great all the way through, (almost) free of bad parts
3.5 very good but with subpar sections
3 mostly good, includes longer subpar sections
2.5 partly good, more good than bad parts, bearable in one sitting
2-0.5 albums I don't care about and thus haven't bothered to rate

For films:
5 an amazing movie that I have special feelings about
4.5 very good, includes lots of interesting ideas or is simply a very compelling watch
4 very good as well, not quite as compelling as a 4.5 movie
3.5 a movie I enjoyed watching but that didn't quite grab me the way it should have
3 a movie I don't really care about but was an alright watch
2.5 not entirely unwatchable but still pretty bad
2 an uninteresting watch, includes very bad parts
1.5 comparably horrible, boring, generic, uninteresting
1 very bad and dumb
0.5 absolutely horrible, didn't like one second of it
