Rating scale explanation:
3.0: A pretty average, probably lazy release. It has a good base, but the creative process is either too sped up or ignored. Generally really basic, it's like you handed me a C paper and you deliberately wrote it as a C paper and expected your C grade.

3.5: This is like the equivalent of a B. You know you can achieve better, but this will do. Most good music is here, it's not too complex (I'll listen to a song like Broccoli walking down the street, but not a song like Wuthering Heights) but not too basic. Spend a bit more time to make something better, I think most daily/frequent tracks for me are around the 3.5-4.0 sweet spot.

4.0: Congrats! You made something pretty amazing. It's like handing in a paper and getting back a 90. There is probably one or two errors that can't be overlooked, but other than that it's pretty darn flawless.

4.5: My personal favorites category, things that are 4s but get the extra .5 just because I really, really like them.

5.0: Sometimes incomprehensible at first, but there are a ton of exceptions. Usually what's culturally accepted as a "masterpiece" AND I have to feel like that's warranted. So you'll mostly see stuff like Kid A and some classics like Funeral and Homogenic.
