I used to call M Night Shyamalan my favorite director when i was ~12/13-ish but i got older and started hating anything with a twist ending because I thought they were 'cheap'. I'm less down on those endings now though, love The Twilight Zone and anything that reminds me of it. I should go back and revisit some of those movies. also I've never seen The Village! do u like Lady in the Water? for some reason I think that's the one I've seen the most, it always fascinated me.

Unbreakable and Lady in the Water both prominently feature swimming pools! so I'm sure you'll enjoy yourself. I still haven't watched Uncle Boonmee... so much modern classics I look forward to getting to, not to mention all those Classic Classics! I find myself thinking sometimes that there's technically no good reason to be bored, it's just the infinity of options that paralyzes me some days....

yup!! the listlessness of lists within lists.... netflix really is super cool for choices. maybe if I read Kierkegaard (or whatever) I'll understand better the weird anxiety that comes with wielding a tv remote.
another thing that I wanna get back into, is reading a book and then watching the movie adaptation of the book. not to determine which is better or anything, just to see how they communicate information differently. when I was a kid my parents didn't let me watch the Lord of the Rings movies until I finished the books. I thought this was really confusing and dumb at the time but now I think it was pretty clever lol

I know we've already established that we seem to have similar sensibilities, but man you have like the best taste of anyone I've ever seen on RYM. Some of the movies you have rated highly (The Last Knight! 2 Fast 2 Furious!) just win my heart.
