Hi. My RYM usage is really irregular, now that I don't have as much interest in music as I used to. I used to rate quite a lot of stuff, but I realized my tastes were changing faster than I could keep up, and eventually I moved away from album-wise listening, so I mostly used/use RYM as a memory of things I've heard, and a rough ranking. I mostly use the ss.rd.dd.e/Hip%20Hop,collection by genre feature for that.
As I changed my rating system a couple of times in the past, without making everything consistent, I've started revising my ratings, but as you might imagine, revising about 2400 ratings is not a project you finish in a week of vacation.
My reviews are all written from my own point of view: if I call an album genre-defining, it means it defined that genre for me, rather than for the whole world. I also prefer to judge music by how I interpret it now, rather than how people would have, say, 20 years ago. Partly because I think that for good music, age doesn't matter, and partly because I haven't been around for that long.

In my recent ratings, you will find albums I listened to recently (whether I altered my rating or not). This way, it's easy to see which ratings are relevant to my current tastes. I tend to rate quickly, and rate from the first listen onward. Some say you can't judge an album on a first listen; I believe I can very well say what I think of it and change my opinion later.
ss.rd/2010,2010 releases
ss.rd/2011,2011 releases
ss.rd/2012,2012 releases
(as you can see, I stopped actively using RYM after 2012).
