I use this site mainly as an online discography. When I do rate, I have a 4-star maximum on any greatest hits/compilation LP, reflecting my bias towards original releases.
I've begun tagging vinyl for condition. I tend to follow the Goldmine Records standard, album/cover:
NM: basically new
VG+: - very minor visual flaws. no audible scratches
VG: good used condition. minor album and cover wear
VG-: still very good, but more wear evidence
G: fully playable but much surface noise. cover is beat up but holds the record
