Some thoughts:

I thought I'd mention that I only rate music that I truly like. To be honest, the only arguments regarding the quality of records or shows that tend to speak to me are those from people who actually love them. Everyone's got an opinion nowadays, and there really is a niche for everyone, so I've become quite bored with people complaining on and on about stuff that they have no vested interest in one way or another. This is the same for shows, films, novels, the whole lot. In a world of voracious consumption and commodity fetishism, I grant a lot more credit to people who focus on truly investing time, effort and emotion into what they love - rather than treating it all like a buffet, like "yeah I'll have that, and some of thems, but ew not that!...", etc. Now I don't expect this to be the way everyone should go about cataloguing their tastes, but it's what works for me.

With that aside, I love art very much and it deeply motivates my most inherent intentions. My only goal in life is to be a good person, and getting lost in these narratives enables me to face each new day for the sake of myself and others, even in spite of getting the short end of the stick mentally, with a sort of wild cocktail of mental health issues I find myself dealing with.

Besides music, TV shows, and a hand-numbered selection of films and comics, I'm also enamoured with Bertolt Brecht's poetry, the philosophy of Ernst Bloch, and the N64 game Majora's Mask. I also spend an embarrassing amount of time rewatching homestarrunner videos.
