I may concede the 'New Wave' point about Canada, but it is sort of charming. I think much better than that other commonwealth hold out Australia (except for Split Enz - you can stuff Midnight Oil, INXS, Mental as anything).. Canada did have some really progressive synth acts though...Rational Youth, Images In Vogue, Psyche...and yes (early) Men Without Hats....Oi! ow's Lerndon mate?
No, I dont know much of Mike Oldfield, I always assumed he was a sort of third rate Tangerine Dream...but I have been getting into that early synth space-scape thing as of late, so I will give it a shot. Excited bout the Dalis Car project. the first record was fine. I did like the Jansen, Barbieri & Takemura album Changing Hands.... Yeah...no need for sunscreen just yet, but I am taking the niece and the wife to the Zoo tomorrow - gunna wear shorts and ride an Ibex, harass a monkey or two....
Props for giving Classix Nouveaux 1 star, such an abomination, and to think in Poland they don't play neither The Smiths, Echo and the Bunnymen nor The Cure (bands that have had huge hits), but play this crap which was neither particularly liked in alternative nor had even had any hits in the mainstream...
