meh, i don't really know much about rocksteady but that song, along with a few other favorites of mine (stand by me, my girl,etc) were songs that i was learning to play for my guitar teacher.
i'd end up listening to each for at least a few hours in doing so, and they all eventually became my favorites (despite how simple they all are). the only ones i ended up not like that much was BOB MARLEY. still don't get the guy. oh well. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
well like you said, many of the best old school singles are disassociated with an album or EP of the same quality so it actually didn't occur to me to check for a riperton album/EP... but i'll give it a shot, thanks for the heads-up. :]
i could tell nicola roberts was gonna be a british pop star. i'm not too familiar with the pop soundscape over there, but that song was definitely a banger lmao.
