Hst, how's it going? Going through Fournier's interpretations of Bach's cello suites, and they are breathtaking; probably most notorious of classical pieces in which to find an "ideal" sound, but I agree with you in that he comes closest.

Thanks, I'll keep those two in mind. I just love how he retains that baroque sensibility of "rigidity" (for lack of a better word) in his resonating performances when others too often romanticize this kind of music, which usually means to "free up" rhythms (moar liek musical hiccups imo) that detract from my listening experience.

Oh yeah, enjoying Pinnock's rendering of the Brandenburg Concertos as well.
