Well first off sorry for posting the video like you were supposed to agree with it, makes me look rather silly. That being said, I thought this guy made a more reasonable case for this 'conspiracy' and in general I like him, his certainly more nuanced than the 'anti-💀' bunch he might be grouped with, so I wonder how much you would acknowledge to be true and what was missed.

Thank you, I agree that his arguments are somewhat undercut by remarks like 'Marxists believe that only they can see the truth, while the rest of us are blind sheep', that's just pandering to the alt-right base. And yeah it doesn't make sense to argue that due to the fact that welfare state hasn't erased inequality and other problems in western economies, Marxism is proven to be false. Arguement that Marxists can't enjoy life is obviously too broad and hyperbolic but there is something to be said for living in a system which you fundamentally opose making your life more frustrating, the same is true for libertarians, you can kind of end up rooting for things to get worse(in order for them to get better later I suppose) and be frustrated when everything seems to be going well, I think that's the point of that argument.
So you're for a slow transition from socialism to communism? I thought I saw you on the forum post about the need for a revolution and that's how society could reach Marxist ideals, so in that case your belief would fit his argument.
It makes sense that actual Marxists oppose identity politics as it undermines what they view as the actual confilct of classes, I guess the movement of cultural 'Marxism' is more of a cousin which has chosen different dividing lines.

Finally got around to Pain&Gain, it was a blast to watch. I honestly took it more at face value as funny comedy rather than some kind of indictment of 'American Dream', one could read it that way but it's rather too much of a parody for that for me and I'm not willing to take some criminals as figures representing all America but nonetheless, great film.

Hah how come you're listening to Linkin Park(again I assume). Anyway I really like Bleed it Out and What I've Done is alright too but I would guess that whole record is very monotonous and probably wouldn't like it too much.

Same here, parts were really immersive, despite being so melodramatic the whole time I kinda bought into it. It was really a brisk paced movie but developed characters well and their interactions were really interesting, I seem to like silent acting(or at least when it's done well). I was even with it when it showed the chaos of reconstuction period, as far as I know those were exagerrated depictions of real problems then. But the 'defend white women from black savages' theme in the second half grossed me out in the end.

I kind of expected it to be more racist too, but now that I think of it, it was pretty bad the whole time. The worst part comes in the last third but before that is that 'witch' behind 'the radical' (lol), that is clearly not white either. But yeah cinematography and editing have been pushed forward by this film. I typically like long takes but cutting within the scene worked really well for something introduced in this film(maybe not the first ever attempt but certainly one of).
