But more on topic, I feel like a "fandomifiable" action-adventures tend to be games with a lot under the surface, story-wise. The more you dig, the more you are rewarded with answers, but also questions. Besides Hollow Knight, Majora's Mask is a good example. These games have charismatic characters and plenty of mysterious gray areas for fans to discuss. With Ori though, it feels like the world exists on a surface-level. The characters are so empty that even detailed backstory just isn't all that meaningful.
