My rating scale:
4-5 stars = Loved (An album that was able to provide me with genuine listening pleasure more often than not with very few, if any, weak cuts. Perhaps some inconsistencies, lack of variation, or other minor annoyances may put me off slightly, but not enough to mar the album as a whole.)
3-3.5 stars = Liked (An album that has potential to be great, but suffers too many weak or merely passable tracks. However, the tracks that amount to something are usually enough to impress me one way or another.)
2-2.5 stars = Didn't Like (An album that fails to impress me most of the time. It will come through occasionally with a few stand-out songs or an original idea, but is most often boring, uninspired, and thus, unmemorable.)
0.5-1.5 stars = Hated (An album that I find to be sonically and aesthetically displeasing from start to finish. Maybe one or two tracks are tolerable, but nothing else steps in to make the issues I have with it any more bearable. The album was most likely pretentious, lazy, unemotional, or utterly moronic.)
On a side note: The reviews that I publish, as well as some of my ratings, are subject to change. It may be because I'll want to correct some grammatical errors, my opinion has changed and I would like to explain my reasoning, or I got some information wrong (we're all human) and would like to make it right. Thank you for understanding and have a pleasant day.
