Here's my rating system:

* * * * * 12 hours to live? Quick, hear this!
* * * * 1/2 Desert island disc
* * * * Superb
* * * 1/2 Really good
* * * Very good
* * 1/2 Good
* * Just OK
* 1/2 A few redeeming features
* Don't bother
1/2 Run away! Run away!

I'm sticking to the strict rule that I don't rate anything without also reviewing it. This means, of course, that the growth of my collection is far outpacing the growth of my rated albums. But the way I look at it, if I want to give a rating to an album then I should be able to say something about why it gets that rating.

I'm not doing the rating & reviewing in any particular order -- just as the mood takes me.
