iPod/iTunes Track Scores
★ -- a bad/insufficient song or a god-awful skit.
★★ -- indifferent; i can live without it.
★★★ -- a good song.
★★★★ -- a great song!
★★★★★ -- a personal classic, or a really awesome song.

All great albums and songs age; few keep composure, most degrade to a point of being almost too familiar. I find this sentiment especially true with records that start good, peak at great/epic, and eventually, for better or worse, hit that familiarity point in where the awesomeness they once had isn't as apparent as it once was. I think this is why I've been uncertain of my rating scale ever since I first began my page here. Only time will tell if I'll ever find a happy system.

I'm convinced that few songs are 5-star worthy, and even fewer are worth 0.5-1 star. Album scores shouldn't be based on these song (or rather, track) scores, though, as I've often noticed that the whole doesn't necessarily equate to the sum of its parts.

I have the most "knowledge" (that is, I've listened the most to) in hip-hop, so I tend to score faster, and with more confidence, when it comes to this genre.
