Hello Angryblonde: Thanks for adding me into your group of friends. You've seen a lot of great stuff! It's great that some young people have a taste for film's history. So many don't. That also of course includes older people too, but in the computer age, it almost seems that history is forgotten or ignored. And that's too bad. My favourite pre-code film? There's so many great ones to choose from but off the top of my head, right now, I'd say Hallelujah, I'm A Bumb. It's a very unusual musical from 1933. But there's all kinds of great ones in all kinds of genres. I've just finished watching Spencer Tracy and Loretta Young in A Man's Castle from 1933, and it was really good too. Anyway it's great to see you have an interest in cinema's huge, wonderful past! Too often, it's overlooked. Take it easy Mike.

Sure) I've checked the noirs you've got rated. Among those which are not on your list and which I can recommend are To Have and Have Not (first among Bogart-Bacall vehicles), Double Indemnity (I'm sure you've heard about this one - finest thing), Gilda (more romance really than noir, but a good one though), Pickup on South Street (not a famous one, but proved to be very influential), Scarlet Street (one of the best by my favourite Lang), Out of the Past (probably the most famous Tourneur film). Hope you'll find these interesting)

Yes, the ending was a bit crumbled, but the whole film is quite fine, especially the opening scene, pure masterpiece. Hope you will enjoy the other films I've mentioned)
