Hmmm... I have an idea... my music organization on RYM is a big mess, there are albums I listened a long time ago, before having an accout on RYM, that I still haven't added here on my profile; there are albums that are on the wishlist for a long time and then one day I donwload/buy and listen to them and rate them but no one knows about it because I don't bump these albums. For the same reason nobody knows when I update an album rating or its tracks ratings. And nobody knows if I made some change on a review.
What do you think if from now on I bump a release every time I buy/download it, and remove it from the wishlist? And if when I heard it for the first time and rate it, I bump it again? And when I make a review for that album I bump it again? And if after some time I relisten to it, and in the case there's some change on the album rating and/or the album tracks ratings, I bump it again? The same if there's some change on the review?
So, I mean: and if I say "fuck the original dates since they're not having any organization function at all!" ?
What do you think my friends? So you could see much more clearly what I'm purchasing (download or CD), what I'm listening to and for what albums I'm giving or changing ratings and what albums I'm reviewing or changing something on the review...
I think I'm going to do it!! Beginning with the first listened albums in 2016. EDIT: Yes, I decided to do it from now on.
Oh, and also: not now, but when I have some time and mind, what if I include all albums I have and are not included yet on my profile, CDs or digital files? That would be a good thing too. Later, though.
There's another two (bad) details: in 2007 I had a case with various original CDs and it was stolen. And 2 years ago I lost a HD with all downloaded albums I had until that date. For those two situations I'll do the following: I'll keep all these albums cataloged the same way they are now: the CDs I lost will keep cataloged as CDs like if I still had them and the digital albums will keep cataloged as digital albums like if I still had them. For the CDs, well, I still have their original packages, I "only" lost the CDs. For both circumstances, I'll be ocasionally downloading them again and when I have again a digital album that I lost with my old HD, I will bump it, and when I have a digital album corresponding to one of the stolen CDs, I'll bump it too.
Oh shit, and what about Spotify?? I've not used it for some months, since I discovered that the bitrate of the music in the free version is only 128 kbps. Maybe I'll pay the premium version. If I get the premium version I'll cataloge everything from it as digital files.
OK, that will be my organization to all the mess from now on. :)
